SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — There is a march for George Floyd, the man who died in Minneapolis Police custody, today at 5 p.m. at Van Eps Park in Sioux Falls.
The organizers say this is a peaceful protest and do not want anyone involved who wants to riot or loot.
Below is the posting on Facebook:
UPDATE ON LOCATION:
After working with the SFPD to get permits due to the large support we are seeing we have worked out a new route to maintain safety for everyone.
We will now meet in Van Eps Park by the statue of Martin Luther King. We will hear a speaker and then walk north on Dakota Ave and stop at the County Courthouse to hear more speakers. We will then walk north on Main Ave to 3rd st and occupy the public space around the Police department and listen to our final speakers.
4th st is completely closed due to construction. The SFPD has been very helpful and cooperative through this process. Again, this is a peaceful protest and we want everyone to stay safe. Thank you for the support Sioux Falls!
