TUCSON, Ariz. (KFGO) – Former Fargo Police Chief Chris Magnus is weighing in on the police-involved death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Magnus, now police chief in Tucson, Ariz., called the actions that led to Floyd’s death an “indefensible use of force that good officers everywhere are appalled by.”
Floyd died Monday after a Minneapolis police officer used his knee to pin Floyd’s neck to the ground. Four officers have been fired.
“This is contrary to how professional officers train & conduct themselves” Magnus said in a tweet. He also said the incident will make it more difficult for police everywhere to build community trust.
Magnus led the Fargo Police Department from 1999-2006.
