FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – Fargo Public Works Director Ben Dow says crews are “plow ready” to handle the snow even though some of the snow removal equipment had already been put away for the season.
Workers spent time Wednesday putting the front blades back on plow trucks and loaders. Wing plows, removed earlier will stay off most trucks. The wings were taken off as city crews prepare for sweeping off as much as 7,000 tons of sand dumped on city streets this winter. The sand is put down to give vehicles traction on snow and ice and has to be removed.
Dow says on average, Public Works employees have only had 7 days off since the second week of January as they dealt with snowstorms, snow removal, and flood preparations.
