FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – For the first time in State history, North Dakota shoppers can patronize stores on Sunday morning. Chris Heaton Vice President of West Acres told KFGO News it won’t affect the mall too much. The doors will continue to open at 9 a.m. for walkers. Heaton says some of the stores have opted to open at 10 a.m. or 11 a.m. instead of Noon as previously required by state law.
Krista Temple, co-manager of the Walmart on 13th Ave. says the change won’t affect her employees because they are already working on Sunday mornings. The only difference is they are allowed to let shoppers into the store. However, Temple says she expects the change will be positive for the store’s bottom line
The North Dakota Legislature voted to end the so-called “blue law” in March.
