OKLAHOMA CITY – Two shootings that happened within minutes and miles of each other Wednesday afternoon on the city’s east and near northeast sides, that injured two people, are unrelated, according to police.

Officers were first called shortly before 3:30 p.m. to the 1300 block of NE 38th Street.

“Next thing you know, I hear ‘Do, Do, Do’ and, then, after that, I come outside and I just see black people everywhere, hopping in cars, driving off,” said Amari Stewart, who was at home with a friend. “I don’t know what was going on, but I’m just glad nobody got hurt. I’m just glad no one got hurt, and that’s all I really have to say.”

Police at the scene said a woman was possibly grazed by a bullet, taken to the hospital in a private vehicle before first responders arrived and expected to be okay. Police officers and detectives with the Springlake Division could be seen speaking with witnesses, taking pictures and collecting shell casings from the street.

Shortly after that first call came in, police said people near NE 10th and Bryant reported gunshots in the 3300 block of NE 10th. About a half mile to the west, a late-model sedan with a flat rear tire pulled into a gas station near NE 10th and I-35.

Police said a man was found shot in the back of a vehicle then taken to a hospital. His condition is unknown.

“I didn’t see or hear anything. All I was told was to come over for the video footage, there was a drive-by shooting and a car ended up in our parking lot,” said Rochelle Davis, the manager of the gas station convenience store. “I believe my employees heard or seen somebody come in and call for help. That’s about all I know of.”

Police said the two shootings are not related. Police do not have any suspects at this time.
