OKLAHOMA CITY – A homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot and killed on the city’s south side late Friday evening, officials said.

Oklahoma City Police were called to a home in the 700 block of SE 60th Street for a shooting shortly before 8:00 p.m.

A man found at the scene, who was shot, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

“Officers responded they found a male in front of a residence in the 700 block. He was transported by EMSA to the hospital where unfortunately he was pronounced dead from his injuries,” said MSgt. Gary Knight. “At this time we don’t have a definitive description of a suspect. We’re still very early in the investigation.”

Witness video provided to News 4 showed the shooting scene shortly after police arrived, as crime scene tape already crisscrossed the street. Video from later in the evening showed two people, a man and a woman, being walked from the home where the shooting took place and placed in the back of two police cars. It’s unclear what connection they may have to the incident.

Police cruisers blocked off a portion of SE 60th Street, at Lindsay Avenue, for more than two hours as crime scene investigators collected evidence and took photographs.

It’s unknown what led up to the shooting. Police are still investigating.
