OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Officials are investigating a fatal accident in northeast Oklahoma City.
Emergency crews responded to the scene Wednesday just before 7 a.m. near NE 23rd and Bartell Rd.
A Toyota Camry driven by 58-year-old Joyce E. Harrell was eastbound on N.E. 23rd Street when it went left of center and collided head-on with a westbound Chevy Blazer driven by 38-year-old Leslie D. Verkuyl.
Harrell died on the scene.
Verkuyl was transported by EMSA to Presbyterian Hospital where she died.
There were no other occupants inside the vehicles.
What led up to the incident is still under investigation.
