A 23-year-old Cheyenne man is facing charges after allegedly beating his on-again, off-again girlfriend of 12 years, who he shares two young children with.

Laramie County deputies say they were called to the woman's house on March 17 after she and Raymon Anthony Cruz got into an argument about her recently getting fired and not being able to support their kids, who live with her.

The argument reportedly turned physical when Cruz told her he was going to take one of the children and she blocked him from getting to them.

Cruz allegedly put the woman in a bear hug and moved her. He then grabbed her by the face and told her to shut up or he would hit her.

When the woman continued to yell at Cruz, he reportedly slapped her four times in the face and twice in the back of the head, punched her in the head and then picked her up and threw her over the couch.

Deputies say the woman had multiple abrasions and bruising on the left side of her face.

Cruz was arrested and charged with third-offense domestic battery and two counts of unlawful contact-touch. If convicted, he could face up to six years in prison.

According to court records, Cruz was convicted of domestic battery or similar offenses against the same woman in February and September of 2016.
