A 32-year-old Cheyenne man who police say violated his bond conditions and a protection order by texting and calling his ex-wife has been bound over to Laramie County District Court on a felony stalking charge.

Kelly Person was arrested on a warrant on Sept. 25, just eight days after posting $10,000 bond in an aggravated assault case in which he allegedly ran his ex-wife and their two children off the road.

Per the bond conditions and the ex parte stalking order of protection, Person was to have no contact with his ex-wife, but police say the woman contacted them on Sept. 23 and stated that Person had been texting and calling her.

Police say several of the text messages talked about how the woman was sleeping with another man and should be ashamed of herself.

According to an affidavit, Person had been stalking the woman for months and the two had recently gone through a messy divorce.

Person is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $250,000 cash bond awaiting his arraignment.  He's scheduled to appear before District Court Judge Peter Froelicher in the aggravated assault case on Oct. 10.
