Police are working to determine whether back-to-back armed robberies that took place in Cheyenne Aug. 14-15 are connected.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says the first occurred at 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday at the Silver Mine Subs on Vandehei Avenue.

"A white man entered the store with his face wrapped in a bandage, produced a handgun and demanded money," said Malatesta.  "After taking money from the store, he left the scene."

At 12:44 a.m. Thursday, the Loaf 'N Jug at 4373 E. Lincolnway was hit.

"A man wearing a dark blue sweater with the hood covering his face approached the clerk, stated he had a gun and demanded money," said Malatesta.  "He obtained money from the store before fleeing."

Malatesta says it's possible the incidents are connected.  He's asking anyone with information about the armed robberies to call police dispatch at (307) 637-6525.
