Cheyenne Residents Asked To Report Potholes To City

The 2019 pothole season has arrived in Cheyenne, and city officials are asking residents to help them stay on top of the situation by reporting potholes to the Public Works Department.

The kind of fluctuating temperatures that are common in the spring lead to a spring and thaw cycle that creates new potholes and enlarges existing ones. Moisture seeps into cracks, freezes then melts again in a cycle that is made worse by cars driving over the road.

It all leads to a big increase in the number of hazards on Cheyenne streets. But Public Works Director Vicki Nemecek says prompt reporting of the holes to the city will help work crews repair them quickly. She says there are several ways to report them:

-"'Visit www.cheyennecity.org. Click the teal colored button labeled “Report a Concern” located on the home page.
-Click on “Pothole Repair” located under the Street and Alley section.
-Sign-in using an existing account, Facebook/Yahoo account, or Proceed as Guest
-Fill out form and click Submit.

In addition to reporting online, citizens are welcome to call 307-637-6263 or visit the Public Works Department in room 210 of the Municipal Building (2101 O’Neil Ave.). During this busy time for repairs, please be patient as crews work on multiple citizen reports.
