Cheyenne police are asking for the public's help in finding whoever burglarized a vehicle in south Cheyenne.

Officer Kevin Malatesta says a .40 caliber Springfield 1911 handgun, wallet and Garmin GPS were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 1500 block of Skyview Circle sometime between the night of July 9 and the morning of July 10.

"To prevent yourself from being the victim of a vehicle burglary, remember 'Lock It or Lose It,'" said Malatesta. "Lock your doors, hide your valuables or take them with you."

Anyone with information about the vehicle burglary is asked to call Crime Stoppers Silent Witness at (307) 638-TIPS. Callers will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
