Colorado Springs gets some unexpected help for its Circle Dr. bridge project

COLORADO SPRINGS – A group of Harrison High School students is helping the city with a new bridge project.

The Circle Drive Bridge Replacement Project is in the planning and design stages. The bridge sits by the high school, and students have offered to help as ambassadors. They would like to help out with planning and community feedback.

A group of students was at the Colorado Springs City Council meeting on Tuesday, and they told councilors, this is more than just a bridge, they want this to be their legacy.

“It’s not just about building a bridge for us, it’s building a bridge for everyone because that is one of the main passways that people go through,” said Angela Palacios, Harrison High School junior.

The project includes a pedestrian lane and other safety features. The city to start construction in early 2021.
