TROUTDALE, Ore. – First responders rescued two dogs who ended up trapped in Beaver Creek Canyon.

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office someone heard the distressed dogs, who were siblings, near a waterfall off of Beaver Creek Lane. The person flagged down a deputy on Saturday evening.

The sheriff’s office worked with Gresham Fire and Multnomah County Animal Services to rescue one of the dogs that night, but they had to call off the search for the second until daylight on Sunday.

A spokesperson said the second dog was found on a cliff near the waterfall.

Gresham Fire said they used a high-angle rope system to get the pups to safety.

No word on whether the dogs were reported as missing.
