The Seattle Kraken have begun the seating process for their debut season.

The NHL’s newest franchise announced Tuesday general seating selections for their ticket depositors.

Back on March 1 of 2018, the team received a high volume of interest in season tickets in anticipation of the team. The franchise reached 10,000 depositors in 12 minutes, a record for a professional sports franchise, en route to 32,000 overall in 24 hours.

“This franchise is forever indebted to our 32,000 deposit holders who stood with us to show the NHL we are a hockey town with an exclamation point,” Kraken CEO Tod Leiweke told the team’s website. “They gave this franchise life in one day. We created a ticket plan to reward those depositors and give them all the chance to be part of the most intimate seating bowl in the NHL.

“We worked on the ticket plan for months and listened to our depositors. We threw conventional wisdom aside and said what’s a new and better way to do it.”

The Kraken unveiled Tuesday 9,000 partial-season plans, saying that a majority of depositors expressed interest in half-season plans. Those include tickets for Seattle’s opening weekend of twin home games in fall 2021.

The franchise has also made available for fans both one-year and multi-year term options for season tickets. The Kraken are offering 12-month payment plans through their partner, WaFd Bank. Fans who select the WaFd Bank option will receive the first authentic Seattle Kraken jersey when it is made available in 2021.

There will be 600 single-game tickets at $40 or less, the franchise said. Nearly 5,000 ticket plans will be under $100.

“We are thrilled to invite fans to start selecting their seats and exploring the best option that suits them,” Kraken senior vice president of sales and service Bill Chapin said. “We made a conscious decisions to create lower pricing in certain sections of the bowl.”

Every Kraken ticket plan holder will be eligible for free public transit to and from Climate Pledge Arena via bus, train or monorail.

The Kraken now have more than 52,000 fans on their ticket waiting list. Those fans can expect updates on securing membership options at a later date, according to the team.
