Oregon crime spree has deadly ending in Albany on Thursday

LANE COUNTY, Ore. - A pair of armed robberies and a police chase came to a deadly end in the Albany area on Thursday.

Eugene Police have identified the woman involved in Wednesday's coffee shop robbery.

Amber Lynn Mosey reportedly led Oregon State Police on a high speed chase, ending in a crash Thursday night that killed Mosey and seriously injured two other passengers.

“The scene was a culmination of a series of robberies being investigated by a number of law enforcement agencies across numerous jurisdictions within the state of Oregon,” said Lt. David Natt, with the Eugene Police Department.

In a press conference on Friday, Lt. Natt explained the timeline leading up to the fatal crash that killed Amber Mosey.

“On March 18th it is believed that Amber and a male companion stole a vehicle in Millersburg, Ore.,” said Lt. Natt. “On March 20th, Mosey robbed a coffee stand in west Eugene, and was seen driving the stolen vehicle in the Millersburg case.”

Then on Thursday, police say she stole a car at the Valley River Center.

Two Oregon State Police Troopers located the stolen vehicle Mosey was driving on I-5 north near Albany.

A high speed pursuit ensued resulting in the vehicle crash,” said Lt. Natt. “Mosey lost control of the vehicle, which rolled several times, ejecting Mosey from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Natt says two passengers, Christopher Arrington and Carmen Marie Lewis, were with mosey at the time of the crash. They were hospitalized with serious injuries. No one else was injured.

Police say with so much that has gone on, their investigation is still ongoing.
