PHOENIX — Phoenix police are searching for an arsonist after the suspect set fire to five vehicles in a parking lot on Jan. 5.
On Saturday, the department released a surveillance video via its Facebook page capturing the man committing the aforementioned arson.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. near 11th Avenue and Buckeye Road., according to police.
Authorities say that he cut a chain-link fence in order to enter the property.
“After the suspect breaks into the parking lot, he lights five vehicles on fire and at some point, it looks like he lit his sleeve on fire, too,” Silent Witness Sgt. Jamie Rothschild said.
“We don’t know if he actually suffered burns because of it or if he put it out too quickly, but any information anyone has on who he is would help investigators.”
