BILLINGS- It is simply another perfect weatherman’s holiday type of day across Billings and all of Montana.

At 2 p.m., the temperatures were mostly in the 70s and a few places are threatening to get into the 80s.

Our thunderstorm outlook for Wednesday shows isolated thunderstorms in the southwest corner of the state and western Wyoming, and we might see a few showers up by the northeast corner the state.

However, at the moment we have a clear scope from one side of Montana to the other, mostly sunny skies all over the state.

Our high-resolution forecast model does suggest we could see some afternoon splash-and-dash showers develop over the Beartooth, Absaroka and Gallatin mountains.

However, those showers will probably track along the stateline with Wyoming and duck under Billings by 6 a.m. Thursday.

A new cold front will move through late in the day and bring a chance for heavy thundershowers in Billings around 5:30 p.m.

This is the same cold front that will bring pre-frontal warming that will cook us up into the mid-80s.

After that, we expect spotty afternoon splash-and-dash showers on Friday in south-central Montana.
