A registered sex offender is facing multiple new child rape charges -- accused by Tooele, Utah police, on several occasions, of raping a 13-year-old girl he met through an app.

According to court documents filed Wednesday, Franchessco Abi Lucar, 37, met the victim in December 2018 on "MeetMe," which describes itself as an app to "meet, chat, and have fun with new people."

Police say the pair agreed to meet up in the parking lot of the Macey's at 972 N. Main St. where Lucar is first accused of raping the girl.

Police say Lucar raped the girl approximately 15 times over a three-month period. The girl says she did not consent to sex with Lucar during that time frame.

At the time of the accused crimes, Lucar was a registered sex offender currently on probation with Adult Probation & Parole.
