An undercover FBI sting has led to the arrest of a Utah man who police say was trying to meet up with a 13-year-old girl for sex.

Delvin Dean Cagle, 31, began chatting with an FBI agent posing as a 13-year-old girl in a chat application throughout September.

Police say Cagle sent photos of himself to the undercover agent and set up a time where the two could meet up for sex.

On September 30, Cagle made arrangements to meet up with the undercover agent near 788 South 50 West in Kaysville.

Police set up the area to catch Cagle, who arrived in a blue Ford Fusion.

Cagle texted who he thought was a 13-year-old girl saying he was at the location in a blue Ford Fusion.

Police observed the Cagle was the same person who sent pictures via chat and stopped and arrested him

While stopped, police texted Cagle's phone from the undercover agent's phone, which lit up with a text with the undercover agent's name in front of the police.

Cagel admitted he was there to meet up for sex but said he thought the girl was "17 or 18."

He said he only had a sexual conversation with the person because he "thought she was 17."
