Crews extinguish pickup truck fire on I-5 near Keizer

KEIZER, Ore. – A pickup truck towing a boat caught fire on Interstate 5 near Keizer Sunday evening, Marion County Fire District 1 said.

Firefighters responded to the incident on I-5 northbound at milepost 263 at around 7:30 a.m.

The first responding engine found a pickup truck engulfed in flames on the right shoulder. Officials said someone had unhooked the boat from the truck and everyone was out of the vehicle.

Firefighters extinguished the flames.

Marion County Fire District 1 says no one was injured. They believe a mechanical malfunction caused the fire.
