JEFFERSON, Ore. - The northbound lanes of Interstate 5 are closed near Jefferson at milepost 242 following a crash involving two semi-trucks, Oregon Dept. of Transportation reports.

"The trucks are on their sides and have spilled materials," ODOT said.

One driver is injured, officials said.

"This could be a long term closure," ODOT reported.

Traffic is currently being detoured at the Ankeny exit.

"However, once it is set up, the detour will be changed using OR 164 at Jefferson," ODOT said.

Travelers should avoid the area and use an alternative route or expect delays.
