Search crews locate body of Mount Angel man reported missing in February

TOKETEE, Ore. - The body of an Oregon man reported missing in eastern Douglas County has been found.

Searchers located the body of 30-year-old Jeffery A. Vance on Sunday.

He was reported missing February 4 after his friend reached Glide and called authorities to report that the two had experienced mechanical problems and walked away from their truck before becoming lost and separated Feb. 3.

Searchers found the truck 2 days later. Heavy snow brought the search for the father of 3 from Mount Angel to a halt a week later.

But searchers returned to the area on Sunday and located Vance just before noon.

"The Douglas County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting a death investigation," the sheriff's office said. "There are no immediate indications of foul play."
