HELENA – The charity group Wells Fargo Volunteers has donated a $100,000 grant to support affordable housing for Helena’s Habitat for Humanity.

Six new homes are currently in construction through a partnership aided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The funds from the grant will be aided toward special repairs for those who struggle with paying for unexpected fixture maintenance.

Executive Director of Helena Habitat for Humanity Jacob Kuntz told MTN many people struggle with the constant rise of housing in the area and that houses (for anyone) should never be substandard or overpriced with high energy expenses.

Kuntz said, “It just doesn’t happen without these unique partnerships through the USDA, through Wells Fargo…we are able to build more homes in this community, we’re planning on taking this sizable grant through Wells Fargo and turning it into more repair dollars, more home dollars so we can build and repair more homes. So, it’s an exciting time Habitat’s history where we are able to build and serve more people than ever before and it’s because of partnerships like this.”

Habitat for Humanity is thrilled to continue its partnership with Wells Fargo and its volunteers by working unanimously in addressing the ever-growing need of affordable housing in Lewis and Clark County.
