This year marks the 91st Academy Awards show, which are truly an LA event. Part of Hollywood Boulevard is blocked off just for the Dolby Theater, citywide celebrity sightings are frequent, and many tune in (or bark on social media) to observe the film industry’s biggest night of the year.

It’s always best to watch the Oscars with groups, and even better at an LA restaurant or bar where TVs stream the ceremony with film-themed cocktails and food. These viewing parties are stationed throughout every corner of the city, with like-minded folks just wanting to get a glance at their favorite actor, view chef José Andrés present the award for Best Picture, see what the A-listers are wearing, and discover who will be the recipient of the coveted golden statue.

The Academy Awards begins at 5 p.m. on Sunday night, but red carpet watching is as early as 3:30 p.m. Here is where to watch the Oscars live in Los Angeles.
