SANTA FE — Santa Fe Botanical Garden received permission from the State of New Mexico to reopen the Botanical Garden at Museum Hill Saturday, Aug. 8.
This reopening comes after a four-month closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Botanical Garden at Museum Hill has never looked more beautiful, and the plants are ready to be seen.
The collection includes native plants and plants that thrive in Northern New Mexico’s semi-arid steppe climate. Take a stroll through the lavender and roses, admire the striking vistas, and learn about New Mexico’s history in the ethnobotanical garden.
Bronze sculptures by Allan Houser and Jonathan Hertzel augment the entire garden experience with works featuring interpretations of human figure in bronze.
To keep visitors, volunteers and staff safe, the Garden updated their policies. All tickets must be reserved in advance for either an afternoon or morning session.
Member tickets are complimentary. No more than 50 visitors are permitted at one time, and groups of more than four are prohibited by the current public health order.

Leonora Curtin Wetland Preserve remains closed with a target reopening date later this month. Education programs are still held virtually, including the free, weekly Garden Sprouts class for children.
