Saturday marked a milestone in the NBA with players who were signed as free agents in the offseason would be eligible to be traded. The first trade of that sort came from the Phoenix Suns as they sent Trevor Ariza to the Washington Wizards despite previous reports he was headed for the Lakers.

But Saturday also marked more news about the Lakers and their pursuits to become a championship contender. During his new ESPN show with Zach Lowe, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that despite Toronto’s incredible start, Kawhi Leonard has his sights set on Los Angeles.

“They can’t change the geography. They can’t change the weather in Toronto. Those were always be things against them in this,” said Adrian Wojnarowski, via Real GM. “Home and L.A. has been the focus for Kawhi Leonard through all of this.”

Woj added that it’s still not clear whether he prefers the Lakers over the Clippers. There have been previous reports that Leonard doesn’t want to play with LeBron but with over six months until free agency, it would be foolish to make any definitive declarations.
