Historic Bristol Day Expected To Have Something For Everyone
Bristol Borough is expected to be bustling this Saturday.
Historic Bristol Day will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. across the historic municipality.
Organizers from the Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation have planned crafts, food vendors, music acts, a sailing regatta, military reenactors, a car show, an archaeological dig, a balloon artist, and a face painter. Many of the events will take place up and down Radcliffe Street and businesses on Mill Street along with the Delaware River waterfront.
The eighth annual car show will be going on at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School and prizes will be awarded.
An archaeological dig will take place at the Friends Meetinghouse at 235 Market Street. The property dates back 300 years.
The popular sailboat regatta will set sail on the Delaware River around 1:30 p.m.
Margaret Grundy Library will host kids activities and open the doors on their special exhibit that focuses on local emergency responders and their history.
The historical walking tour will step off at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the fountain by Walnut and Radcliffe streets. An expert will lead the walk while telling the story of the borough and its architecture.
Several cultural and historic sites and businesses will open their doors for the event, including the Centre for the Arts, Bristol Riverside Theatre, and Silver Lake Nature Center in nearby Bristol Township.
A ticketed tea and house tour event will take place at 202 Jefferson Avenue, 507 Radcliffe Street, 719 Radcliffe Street, and 725 Radcliffe Street.
This year marks the first that the that the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of Antique and Classic Boat Society will host their show in the borough. The classic and antique boats will be on display at the waterfront and near the docks.
Parking for the event will take place at the Dow Chemical lot of Old Route 13, the Mill Street Parking Lot, and the Island View Crossing office building at 1414 Radcliffe Street. Shuttle service will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. ever 15 minutes from the parking areas.
