Volunteers are being urged to help run a charity music festival in Lichfield.

Oxjam events are run by Oxfam across the UK, with the charity hoping to see a team run an event in the city.

Areas such as production, events management, marketing, promotion and fundraising all need to be covered ahead of the October festival.

Volunteer Oxjam Lichfield Festival manager Nicola Forsyth said: “Oxjam is not only a great way to raise money to help Oxfam fight poverty, but also an opportunity to showcase the best in local music.

“We want to make it a day to remember for the whole community and we will be working hard to make sure there’s something to suit all musical tastes, but we can’t do it without a fantastic team of volunteers.

“Over the years, Oxjam has not only helped propel up and coming bands on the route to stardom, it has also served as a springboard for volunteers looking to pursue careers in the creative industries, events management and the music industry.

“So, as well as raising money to help Oxfam continue its life-changing work, it’s also a great opportunity to gain rewarding and valuable work experience – while having some fun along the way.”

The one-day festival will see a host of talented local bands and musicians playing in a number of pubs and venues in Lichfield with all profits going to Oxfam.
