2 killed, 3 injured as car rolls down gorge in Shimla district

Ill-fated vehicle was on way from Ratnari to Bholar village in Jubbal

Two persons were killed and three others injured when the vehicle they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Paudhar on Rohru-Tikker road in Rohru subdivision on Thursday.

The ill-fated vehicle (a red-colour Hyundai i20) carrying five persons was on its way from Ratnari to Bholar village in Jubbal when the driver lost control over the car near Paudhar.

The police reached the spot and started rescue but one Akshay Chauhan (23) died on the spot while the driver, Mitul Chauhan (34), succumbed to his injuries on way to hospital.

The injured, including Ujjwal Chauhan, Paras Chauhan and Puneet Chauhan, were taken to civil hospital, Rohru, and are under treatment. All belonged to Bholar village.

A case has been registered and investigations are under way, said police sources, adding that the bodies were handed over to the family members after post mortem.
