A Madison man being arrested for drug dealing threw crack cocaine off a balcony Tuesday morning, but the crack was recovered and he was taken into custody.
Kolby Bracey, 19, was tentatively charged with four counts of delivery of cocaine, maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession with intent to deliver cocaine, Madison police said.
The Dane County Narcotics Task Force, the Madison Police SWAT team and North District community police officers went to an apartment in the 2400 block of Calypso Road at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to serve a warrant on Bracey.
"As police made entry, he attempted to discard some of the controlled substance by tossing it off a balcony," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. "SWAT members were in the area and it was recovered."
The search warrant turned up cocaine, cellphones, digital scales and other evidence in the apartment.

Richland Center man gets 90 months in prison, Madison man gets 2 years
A Richland Center man who pleaded guilty to drug dealing and a Madison man who pleaded guilty to having a gun as a felon have been sentenced to prison.
Joshua Clarke, 31, was sentenced to 90 months on the drug conviction and Billy Shell Jr., 21, was sentenced to two years on the gun possession conviction.

A 20-year-old Beloit man has been arrested in connection with a crash into a house that was then destroyed by fire.
Cameron Lee Flory was arrested Sunday night after police used the vehicle registration number on his car to find him.

Madison attorney gets public reprimand from state Supreme Court
A Madison attorney has been publicly reprimanded by the Wisconsin Supreme Court for punching a man in the nose and driving while intoxicated.
Jeffrey McIntyre, 58, received the reprimand from the Supreme Court on June 26, according to Keith Sellen, director of the Office of Lawyer Regulation.

A Baraboo woman was arrested early Friday morning for her alleged fifth operating while intoxicated offense.

Woman tried to set fire at North Side gas station, Madison police say
A Madison woman who police say put a lit cigarette lighter up to a car’s gasoline intake was prevented by an officer from setting the car or anything else on fire during a disturbance Thursday night.
Monique Lemon, 38, was taken to the Dane County Jail on tentative charges of second-degree reckless endangering safety, disorderly conduct and resisting/obstructing an officer, Madison police said.

Woman with 6-year-old in car arrested for alleged 4th OWI, Janesville police say
A Janesville woman was arrested early Thursday morning for her alleged fourth operating while intoxicated offense, with an unrestrained six-year-old child in the back seat.
Tavia St. John, 44, was taken to the Rock County Jail following her arrest at about 2:20 a.m., police said.

Officer punched while arresting suspicious man on South Side, Madison police say
A man being taken into custody Tuesday night punched a Madison officer twice in the face, the second time in less than 10 minutes an officer was attacked by a person being arrested.
Ranondo Reid, 20, Madison, was tentatively charged with battery to a law enforcement officer, disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and resisting an officer, police said.

Woman slashed on Park Street, Madison police say
A woman was stabbed on Madison's South Side Thursday morning with a suspect taken into custody, police said.
Kendra R. Allen slashed and cut at the woman in the 2100 block of South Park Street shortly before 6 a.m., Lt. John Radovan said.
