Stop Brexit Man has become a controversial figure as he continues to express his desire for the UK to remain within the EU.

He has been carrying out anti-Brexit protests at Westminster for nearly two years to express his desire for a second referendum to be held.

Many people who have been watching recent events unfold have heard him shouting ‘stop brexit’ during live TV coverage when reporters base themselves on College Green, near the Houses of Parliament.

The man upstaged Jacob Rees-Mogg last year when the MP stepped outside to speak to reporters after saying that he had no confidence in Theresa May.

He also snuck his way in front of the camera during Brexit coverage on the BBC News channel with signs saying ‘stop the brexit mess’ and ‘save the NHS’.

Who is the Stop Brexit Man?

Steve Bray is a political activist who has been carrying out protests against Brexit on College Green in Westminster.

He is usually seen wearing a blue jacket and a top hat with the words ‘stop Brexit’ written across it.

Steve has been a prominent figure, particularly over the last few months with many people hearing him shout ‘stop brexit’ during live coverage from Westminster, including broadcasts of the many Brexit votes that have taken place so far this year.

He has been a strong advocate for holding a second referendum, reflected by the signs he has held up saying things like ‘we want a peoples’ vote’ and ‘the people want to speak again’.

He is now believed to have been carrying out the protests for around two years, but it he has faced a few challenges along the way.

Last year Mr Bray, from Port Tablot in south Wales said: ‘I’ve had a few threats on my life, things like that.

‘It’s in one ear, out the other with me.’
