Marcus Rashford has told Manchester United chiefs he wants to be paid a staggering £300,000-a-week or else he will push for an exit, reports claim.

The 21-year-old England attacker only has a year left on his current deal and is wanted by Barcelona.

With Paul Pogba and David de Gea’s futures both up in the air, United bosses are desperate not to lose the forward, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fearful he will move to La Liga on a free transfer.

Rashford will be allowed to leave for nothing if United can’t tie him down to a new deal and he knows he is in a strong position in negotiations.

And with other Manchester United squad members earning in the region of £300,000-a-week, he is convinced he is worthy of a high wage.

Negotiations have been ongoing between both parties but they are no closer to getting a deal signed, according to The Mirror.

Rashford is in no rush to leave his boyhood club but is convinced of his own worth, and knows potential suitors will be willing to cave into his demands if it means they don’t have to pay a transfer fee.

His advisors have pointed out to him that Alexis Sanchez – who earns close to £500,000-a-week – has shown far less commitment than he has.

The situation shines light on United’s transfer policy in recent times and shows just how disruptive Sanchez’s exhorbitant wage demands have been.
