Amber Gill has all the power in tonight’s Love Island recoupling and oh how the tables have turned.

After spending the past fortnight accusing Amber of playing games and lying to her fellow islanders, Michael Griffiths has come back crawling, admitting he does still have feelings for his ex after trying to make her look like a fool in front of millions.

In tonight’s episode, which proves to be another shocker, the firefighter actually apologises to Amber, which absolutely no one could have seen coming just days ago.

‘The situation that I am in now has given me time to clarify a few things in my head. It’s given me time to think and realise “I do like Amber”,’ he tells her. ‘I can only apologise about how I was over the last few weeks. I’m just letting you know that I do still like you.’

And then everything hits the fan when Maura Higgins squeals: ‘Islanders. Tonight, there will be a recoupling in which the girls will choose which boy they want to couple up with. #manofthemoment.’

But after new boy Greg O’Shea – a professional rugby player and trainee lawyer – managed to turn Amber’s head, it might be too little too late for Mike.

Michael’s former partner Joanna Chiminonides was kicked off Love Island by both the public and cast mates on Monday night, but within a matter of hours he began to take a drastic U-turn to start treating Amber like a human being – but only after demanding her to ‘sit down’ first.

Understandably, Jo has since admitted watching Michael’s confession has been a hard pill to swallow.

Thankfully, she was welcomed back to the UK by former islander and heartthrob Jack Fowler so we’re guessing she’s doing just fine.

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
