Lyon’s sporting director Juninho has warned European super clubs hoping to land Moussa Dembele that the former Celtic striker is not for sale.

The French attacker left the Scottish Premiership las summer to join the Ligue 1 side but his impressive displays have courted interest from across Europe.

Manchester United were heavily linked with a bid for the 23-year-old this summer but a move failed to materialise, with Italian giants Juventus also thought to hold an interest in signing him.

Dembele has started the season in style, scoring three goals in two appearances, and Lyon chief Juninho warned that he will be staying with the French outfit.

‘We are satisfied with the players we have,’ Juninho told Foot Sur 7. ‘We must now build collectively.

‘We do not need to sell. I would like everyone to stay with us. If Moussa Dembele was to leave it would do us a lot of harm.’

Celtic would be owed between 10 and 15% of any transfer due to a sell-on clause inserted into the deal that saw him move to Lyon for £20million.

While United can’t move for Dembele this summer due to the English transfer window being closed, Juventus can try and get a move over the line before the European window slams shut on September 2.
