A woman was stunned when a mystery stranger she believes was a footballer paid for her £142 birthday dinner.
Shauna Wilson was amazed by the random act of kindness as she celebrated her 21st birthday on Thursday.
The man sat next to Shauna and her family at Cosmo in Manchester when he noticed a balloon and asked who was celebrating.
Minutes later he got up and walked away before returning to tell Shauna he had paid for their £142.88 bill.
He also added a tip for the restaurant staff.
Unfortunately the generous diner left before Shauna could say a proper thank you.
Now she wants to track down the man to say how grateful she was for the kind gesture.
Shauna, a disability support worker from Manchester, said: ‘I tried to run after him but he disappeared too quickly.
‘I just wish I would have had the chance to say thank you.
‘What a wonderful man.
‘It was the most selfless, thoughtful and kindest thing anybody has ever done for me.
‘I’m just so sad I didn’t get to thank him.
‘Me and all my family were left speechless.
‘It was definitely a 21st birthday to remember, and I’m eternally grateful.
‘My guess is he’s some kind of footballer.
‘I just want to thank him for such a kind gesture.’
