Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) has promised to do whatever he can in EastEnders to ensure Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) doesn’t go to prison, but the woman in question is evidently developing feelings for her solicitor, and — in the coming episodes — she tries to kiss him.

Whitney continues to be haunted by the memory of the night in which Leo (Tom Wells) was killed, and Gray later finds her disorientated on the street as a result.

After coming to her aid, the solicitor resolves to takes her back to his place —so that he can go over the case with her.

While there, the pair of them go through Whitney’s previous relationships, as Gray reveals that they could be used against her in court.

Determined to get answers, he sets off to speak to Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda (Kellie Bright) in relation to her marriage to Lee (Danny Hatchard), and The Queen Vic landlady ends up revealing that Lee hit Whitney.

Later, Gray advises Whitney to use the flashbacks that she’s been having to piece together a clear picture of what happened on the night in which Leo died — informing her that being able to do so could help her defence in the trial.

Whitney becomes distressed as she does what he asks — giving him a detailed account — but she soon breaks down.

Gray once again comes to her rescue —comforting her — but as he does so, she tries to kiss him.

Will Gray back off?

Or will passion ensue?
