Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has dropped a huge hint over his future after ‘liking’ a post on Instagram begging him to sign a new deal at Arsenal.

The 31-year-old capped off a magnificent individual campaign with a brace in Arsenal’s FA Cup final victory over Chelsea at Wembley earlier this month which took his tally to 29 goals in all competitions.

But Aubameyang’s future has been the subject of intense speculation over the last few months, with the Gabon international set to become a free agent in 2021.

The likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona have been heavily linked with Aubameyang and the forward’s refusal to discuss the situation following the cup final did little to dispel rumours that he could be set for the exit door.

However, Mikel Arteta is optimistic that Aubameyang will remain in north London beyond the summer and Arsenal’s captain has appears to have dropped the biggest hint yet that he could be set to extend his stay.

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot that the attacker had ‘liked’ a post from @thearsenalgalaxy on Instagram which said: ‘Introducing your official Arsenal 2019/20 Player of the Season, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang!

’29 goals and 3 assists, it’s been a fantastic season for the Gabon international.

‘Now let’s just hope he can sign da ting… 👀🔴🔥 @aubameyang97.’

Recent reports claimed that Arsenal chiefs were growing increasingly confident that Aubameyang will commit his long-term future to the club and put pen to paper on a three-year extension.

It’s understood the ex-Borussia Dortmund star would be handed a significant rise on his current £200,000-a-week wages.

He has also been given assurances that Arteta will be given the funds he needs to build and strong and competitive squad despite the financial impact of the coronavirus crisis.
