Kohima Police issues traffic advisory for Aug 15

KOHIMA, AUGUST 12 (MExN): The Kohima Police today issued a traffic advisory in view of the August 15 Independence Day which is to be celebrated at the Secretariat Plaza, Kohima.


An advisory from the PRO, Kohima Police informed that only vehicles with CAR PASS ‘Z’ (Red) and CAR PASS ‘Y’ (Blue) will be allowed entry to the Secretariat Plaza. Vehicles with CAR PASS ‘X’ (Green) will drop their respective officers at the main gate and park outside the Secretariat Complex.


Parking outside the main gate of the Secretariat Plaza will be free for all public.


It was further informed that no vehicle including two wheelers will be allowed to park by the roadside from 6:00am onwards at the following routes: From BSNL Telephone Exchange till Classic Island; Raj Bhavan till MS Classic Island; Classic Island to Tinpati via Razhü point; and Tinpati to Billy Graham Road via Don Bosco Junction.


Meanwhile, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply from Tinpati Junction to Assembly Secretariat via Don Bosco Jn. All heavy vehicles including government department buses shall take Tinpati-High School-Merima-Secretariat road and vice versa.


Further, the Kohima Police stated that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to ply in Kohima town during Assembly Session, from 6:00am till the session is over. All loading and unloading of goods in Kohima town should be completed by 6:00am during Assembly Session. Finally, it was informed that heavy vehicles will not be allowed to park along ‘D’ Block road.


While anticipating positive co-operation from the public, the police stated that it will tow away defaulting vehicles and the charges will be borne by the vehicles owners.
