1,437 new COVID-19 positive cases and 38 deaths have been reported in Mumbai
Maharashtra reported a spike of 2,682 new COVID-19 cases and 116 deaths on Friday. With this, the state has recorded a total of 62,228 cases and 2,098 deaths so far.
A total of 1,437 new cases were reported in Mumbai, taking its overall count to 36,710. Thirty-eight people succumbed to the infection in Mumbai today. Out of 38 deaths 28 patients had co-morbidities. Among them, 22 patients were male and 16 female. Two deaths were below 40 years of age, 20 deaths were above 60 years of age, and 16 were between 40 to 60 years. Also, 715 patients were discharged today. Death toll has now gone up to 1,173 in the city.
Out of the total deaths reported today, 46 deaths occurred in the last two days and the rest are from the period May 16 to May 26. Out of the 70 deaths in this period, 16 were recorded in Mumbai, 14 in Jalgaon, 9 in Navi Mumbai, 6 in Dhule, 5 in Malegaon, 3 in Aurangabad, 3 in Bhivandi, 3 in Nashik, 2 in Amravati, 2 in Kolhapur, 2 in Mira-Bhayandar, 2 in Raigad, 2 in Solapur and 1 was recorded inThane .

Out of the 116 deaths today, 77 were men and 39 women. Among them, 48 of them aged over 60 years, 55 were from the age group 40 to 59 years and 13 were aged less than 40 years. 75 out of 116 patients (65 per cent) had high-risk co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, etc.
Also, 8,381 patients were discharged today and a total of 26,997 COVID-19 patients have been discharged after full recovery until today.
Out of 4,33,557 laboratory samples, 62,228 have been tested positive for COVID-19 until today.

There are 33,124 active cases in the state. Currently, 5,35,467 people are in home quarantine and 35,967 people are in institutional quarantine. Patient doubling time for the state is now 15.7 days from 11 days in the last week. Recovery rate in the state is 43.38 per cent and mortality rate in the state: 3.37 per cent, the state health department said.

Eleven out of the total 24 civic administrative wards in Mumbai together constitute more than 23,193 of the over 35,000 coronavirus positive cases detected in the city so far, the ward-wise data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has revealed.

Mumbai: Dharavi reports 41 COVID-19 positive cases on Friday
The slum-clusters of Dharavi alone reported 41 new cases today, taking the total number of infected to 1,715. A senior Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said that the new cases were found in Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Azad nagar, Shastri Nagar, Baliga Nagar and some other localities of Dharavi.
