On Monday, the first step in the construction of Mumbai’s first underground metro tunnel for Metro 3 was undertaken successfully. Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) employees were seen waving the tri-colour at the end of the successful completion. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also present on the occasion. The 1.2-km-long tunnel, which connects Marol Naka with the International Airport, is the first one to be completed. The Colaba - Bandra - SEEPZ line of the Mumbai metro will be fully underground.

On Monday, the first tunnel of underground Metro-III corridor (Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ) was successfully completed. The 1.2-km-long tunnel, which connects Marol Naka with the International Airport, is the first one to be completed, thus bringing the first breakthrough of the special commissioned Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM).
