State officials have launched a new phone line to serve as a mental health resource for Nevada's healthcare workers.

The toll-free number, called the Nevada HealthCARES Warmline, went live last week, according to a spokesperson for the state's Department of Health and Human Services.

Those who call the line will reach trained volunteers who can provide emotional support, stress management and resources for those responding to COVID-19.

It's a project launched through a partnership between UNLV and the state's Division of Public Health.

"The partnership between UNLV and DPBH is a tremendous resource for health care workers across our state," Nevada Gov. Steve Sisolak said in a statement. "These workers have been on the front lines helping Nevada battle COVID-19 and it's important we provide them the same care and consideration they provide to patients on a daily basis."

Workers can reach the warmline at (833) 434-0385. The phone line is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Those interested in volunteering to help the line can register through the Battle Born Medical Corps.
