Drive-by visits and tips confirmed that Memphis-based slow-smoked meat merchant Central BBQ opened up for friends and family over the weekend. However, restaurant representatives say they won’t officially open the new Capitol View spot to the public until sometime in early November.

Founded by Craig Blondiss and Roger Sapp, Central BBQ started smoking meats on Memphis’ Central Avenue in 2002, and has since expanded its meat-heavy empire to three other locations there.

Nashville’s location said they’ll offer the same menu as Memphis — leading off with starters like a sausage and cheese plate, wings, and pulled pork-plastered nachos.

For the main event, the barbecue restaurant serves brisket, pulled pork, turkey, and chicken smoked over hickory and pecan woods for smoking, alongside classic Memphis dry-rubbed ribs.

Located at 408 11th Avenue, the Nashville outpost joins other food and drink tenants Clean Juice, M.L.Rose, Starbucks, and Your Pie in the mixed-use project from Northwestern Mutual and Boyle Investment Company.
