The Return of Nashville’s Essential Thai Restaurant Is Delayed by Construction

In an Instagram post this weekend, Thai Esane’s chef/owner Nina Singto urged fans of the essential restaurant to “hang tight” — explaining that due to construction, the restaurants reopening is pushed back to “mid-July”.

The restaurant closed May 23 in the former 12 South location, which is curiously reopening soon as King Siam Thai Cuisine, according to signs hung on the building (more on that to come).

In the new Music Row space on the ground floor of the Element Music Row building at 1520 Demonbreun, Thai Esane is rebranding as Ten for Thai Esane. The new 3,500-square-foot space sees a six-foot tall golden Buddha from Thailand, an expanded bar menu, plus patio seating for 40.

Singto teased that the new restaurant will change the game for Thai food in town. The former Thai Esane menu enveloped Southeastern Asian cuisine, featuring dishes from Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. Singto’s steamed dumplings, Malaysian-style noodles, and papaya salad are some of her crowd favorites.

The original Thai Esane location first opened in June 2014, following the family’s success with King Market in Antioch.
