Nashville is Playing Host to Two Crawfish Boils Next Month

Two crustacean-based parties are hitting Nashville next month to kick off the start of spring.

Tennessee Brew Works’ annual kickoff to patio season and Pennington Distilling Co.’s Crustaceans in the Nation are taking place during the first and last weeks of March, respectively, Nashville Scene reported Tuesday. Both will serve beer, shellfish, and other beloved Southern plates alongside live music and good vibes.

Pie Town taproom Tennessee Brew Works is opening its vast upper and lower patios for the first time in 2020 on Saturday, March 7 at 11 a.m. The brewery will be serving crawdads boiled in its own IPA, andouille, corn, and potatoes from Tenessee’s own Batey Farms, and will offer a range of specials on pitchers, ideal for those in groups.

On the roster for music that day are Nashville local Taylor Alexander, polka-swing folk band Adrian+Meredith, and Erin Hazelrig’s Dolly Parton tribute band. The party will rage until 10 p.m., rain or shine, sans cover, so there’s literally no reason not to come out.

Three weeks later, The Nations’ Pennington Distilling Co. will offer its own take on the crawfish boil from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 28. Organized in collaboration with Rhizome Productions Inc., this family-friendly party will serve crawfish (free for children under 10), local craft beer, and inventive cocktails. Adults will likely appreciate entertainment from New-orleans funk group Admiral Phunk Brass Band — and parents are sure to enjoy the games and bouncy house available to keep kids busy all day long.

Tickets to Crustaceans in the Nations start at $30, which comes with all-you-can-eat access, with drink tokens sold separately for a reduced price until March 14. If that’s too complicated, you can always show up and purchase day-of at a slightly higher price.
