Two Nebraska airports will continue to use SkyWest after a government contract was renewed.

The Department of Transportation approved the three years, Essential Air Service contract for airports in Scottsbluff and North Platte.

Senator Deb Fischer praised the decision after sending a letter of support in the following statement:

“Nebraska’s small airports connect our families and businesses to the rest of the world, and the EAS program is critical to maintaining air service in our rural areas. After sending a letter in support of this action, I am happy to see that SkyWest has been awarded a three-year contract to operate out of Scottsbluff and North Platte."

Fischer went on to say the EAS contract extension will be food for Nebraska's economy.
