Meghalaya has registered two more COVID19 positive cases, taking the overall tally to 36.
Confirming the news, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma in a tweet on Sunday said both the new positive cases are returnees to the state who came from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra recently.
The chief minister has also informed that both the infected patients are under quarantine in East khasi Hills.
With the news cases, the number of active COVID19 cases in Meghalaya stands at 22.
Earlier, a total of 13 COVID19 patients recovered from the disease.
The first COVID19 positive patient registered in Meghalaya died of the infection.
“Two more residents who came from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID19. Both of them under quarantine in East Khasi Hills District. Total Positive Cases 36. Total Active Cases 22. Total Recovered 13. Total Deceased 1,” chief minister Sangma said.
According to the Union health Ministry, the number of COVID19 positive cases has increased to 2.46 lakh while the death toll has crossed the 6,900-mark.
There are 1.20 lakh active COVID19 cases in India.
Maharashtra has the highest number of cases with nearly 83,000 COVID19 positive cases of infection and almost 3,000 deaths.
Two more residents who came from Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID19. Both of them under quarrantine in East Khasi Hills District.
