Former Tripura minister Badal Choudhury

Former Tripura PWD minister Badal Choudhury on Saturday night shifted to Bishalgarh Hospital and then to GB Hospital from Central Jail.

“The former minister complained of severe chest pain after which he was shifted to the hospital. His condition is critical,” the doctors informed.

He has been admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) of GB Pant Hospital.

His wife Namita Gope and several CPI(M) leaders rushed to the hospital after they got to know about his deteriorating health condition.

On Saturday, the minister was interrogated by investigating officer Ajay Kumar Das after which he fell ill.

Chowdhury was arrested for his alleged involvement in an Rs. 630 crore scam and was put in jail, even as his health condition.
