Former Tripura CM Manik Sarkar interacting with media after a blood donation camp was attacked by goons in Agartala on Sunday

A blood donation camp was attacked by miscreants in Agartala on Sunday.

The blood donation camp was organized by Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) at Ramnagar Girls’ School.

The camp was inaugurated by the former Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.

“A blood donation camp today was attacked by BJP goons here in Agartala,” alleged former youth leader Amal Chakraborty.

“SFI and DYFI jointly organised the blood camp with an aim to aid the blood banks amid this COVID-19 pandemic,” Chakraborty further added.

DYFI secretary Nabarun Deb informed that seven people were injured during the attack.

The injured were admitted to IGM Hospital as police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.

“We have registered an FIR with the West Agartala Police station,” Deb added.

“Everything in the blood donation was going well before the attack and around 38 people had donated blood until then,” Deb said.
