EEOC, Baltimore County Spar Over Interest Owed for Pension Bias

Baltimore County is wrong that the EEOC waived its right to collect prejudgment interest on millions the county owes first responders and other employees who over-contributed to their pensions based on age, the agency told a Maryland federal judge.

The EEOC asserted its right to such interest in its amended complaint, and later reasserted that right in the 12-year-old Age Discrimination in Employment Act case, the commission said in a letter filed Monday with the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
